KHEPERA Brings Soul to NYC's Non-Profit Organizations:
Highly Anticipated Stage Play Khepera, Opens November 6th
NEW YORK - On November 6, 2002, at 8 p.m. the highly anticipated stage play Khepera opens at The Present Company Theatorium (196-198 Stanton - New York, NY). The Healing Theatre Company in partnership with MoonChild Enterprises will be presenting this soul stirring stage play November 6th thru November 23rd. Every performance will have donated seats for members of all NYC non-profit organizations to come and enjoy this inspiring stage play.
Khepera communicates to all people who have had to stop and take account of their pasts in order to take a firm grasp of their futures. This all woman ensemble speaks to all ages, races and genders through its intimate narrative.
"We want to not only bring soulful entertainment to the theater and arts community but open our doors to those who may not otherwise be able to experience theater and the arts," says author Tracey Michae'l Lewis.
Co-written by Tracey Michae'l Lewis and Roneasha 'Nzinga' Bell, Khepera is essentially a true account of the struggles and triumphs of four very different women who represent the diversity in all communities. Each woman literally characterizes one of the four components of life - Earth, Wind, Fire and Water - while all of their pasts are represented through the theatrical oration of their ancestors. The elements that create these women initially consume them, but through self discovery the fullness of time heals them. The hardships, self-esteem issues, and loves lost take these women on a soul-searching journey that leads them back to the familiarity of lands long forgotten to them.
Khepera can be experienced November 6-November 23rd, Wednesday thru Saturday at The Present Company Theatorium located at 196-198 Stanton Street, New York, NY. Show time begins at 8 p.m. sharp each evening. All area non-profit organizations are invited to reserve complimentary seats immediately for one of the 12 performances.
